2024 September Calendar National Holidays for the Workplace
This Labor Day falls late this year on Monday September 2, 2024, which is a great way to ease into the month with a workplace Labor Day celebration. At work, you should observe Swap Ideas Day with other departments to see. Set up a putt-putt course in the office to enjoy Mini Golf Day. Celebrate the strong and powerful career women on September 22nd for national Business Women's Day and show your pharmacist appreciation on World Pharmacists Day (September 25th).
Don't forget that the fourth Friday of the month is Remote Employee appreciation day and also the beginning of the autumnal equinox!
Because many workers have kids who are going back to school at this time of year, giving them a little extra flexibility on the morning of Be Late for Something Day - celebrated Sept. 5 - can go a long way, and a gift can show some extra appreciation as well. Toward the end of the month, companies can also celebrate Good Neighbor Day on Sept. 28, perhaps by having workers do a little cleanup at a park near the office or donating some time to local charities.

National POW MIA Recognition Day
National POW MIA recognition day is a collection of observances held on military installations, schools, veteran's facilities, municipal buildings, and ships at sea to remember those who have been held captive as prisoners of war (POW) and those who never returned or are missing in action (MIA). National POW MIA recognition day was established by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 and is recognized by every president since on the third Friday of September.
National Food Bank Day
Americans are encouraged on the first Friday in September to remember that no person should ever go to bed hungry. And so, a collection of nationwide food banks assist nearly 42 million Americans struggling with food insecurity. National Food Bank Day encourages you to donate nonperishable foods as a part of this drive.
National Pet Memorial Day
On the second Sunday in September, Americans remember their cherished companions that have passed. National Pet Memorial Day reminds us to look to our pets as a source of joy, as a reminder to play, to lighten our moods, and to keep us healthy and happy.
